Strng: A Powerful String Synthesizer for iPhone
Strng is a string synthesizer app for iPhone that is inspired by the karplus-strong algorithm. Unlike traditional synthesizers that use samples, Strng generates plucked string-like sounds using a physical modeling approach. The synthesis engine starts with a short burst of noise, which is then guided by a tuned delay buffer and string tension filter.
One of the standout features of Strng is its 16-voice polyphony, allowing you to create complex and layered string sounds. The app provides multiple ways to control the synthesizer, including an in-app 25-key chromatic keyboard and the ability to connect your preferred MIDI controller through USB or Wi-Fi.
In addition to its powerful synthesis capabilities, Strng offers two post-effects to further shape your sound. The first is a ping-pong stereo delay, which adds depth and spaciousness to your sounds.
